Product Description
Armaflex insulation tape is a flexible, closed-cell elastomeric foam tape engineered for thermal insulation, vapor sealing, and condensation control. 1 It is widely used in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and industrial systems to wrap around complex pipe fittings, valves, joints, and tight corners where rigid or tubular insulation cannot easily conform.
. Condensation Control: The closed-cell foam structure forms a built-in vapor barrier that prevents pipe “sweating,” moisture ingress, and subsequent corrosion under insulation (CUI).
. Energy Efficiency: Reduces thermal loss or heat gain on hot and cold line connections, reducing energy consumption for HVAC and refrigeration equipment. .High Flexibility: Easily wraps around irregular shapes, T-joints, valves, elbows, and short pipe runs without tearing or cracking. .Microbial Resistance: Often built with antimicrobial protection (e.g., Microban®) to resist mold and fungal growth.
.HVAC & Refrigeration: Insulating suction lines, copper refrigerant pipes, and ductwork joints. . Chilled Water & Plumbing: Sealing pipe connections to prevent drip damage in commercial and residential buildings. .Cold Rooms & Chillers: Wrapping valves, fittings, and thermal bridges in cold storage facilities. .Repair & Sealing: Patching damaged areas on existing Armaflex pipe tubes or sheet insulation to restore continuous thermal coverage.
1. Surface Prep: Ensure the target pipe or substrate is clean, dry, and free from oil, dust, or rust.
2. Wrapping: Peel back the protective paper backing and apply the adhesive side directly to the surface.
3. Overlapping: Wrap the tape around the pipe with a 50% overlap to ensure seamless continuous coverage without air gaps. 4.Firm Pressure: Smooth down firmly along the seam to ensure proper bonding of the pressure-sensitive adhesive.
