Product Description

Non-Asbestos Ceramic Fiber Rope is manufactured from high-purity alumino-silicate ceramic fibers reinforced with fiberglass or stainless steel wire. Engineered to replace hazardous asbestos seals, it provides exceptional thermal insulation, high flexibility, and outstanding resistance to heat and flame in demanding industrial environments.

Key Technical Specifications

  • Material Composition: High-purity aluminosilicate ceramic fibers (~51%, ~45%).

  • Asbestos-Free: 100% non-asbestos, non-hazardous thermal packing.

  • Temperature Limits:

    • Continuous Operating Temp: Up to 1,000°C ()

    • Maximum Peak Temp: Up to 1,260°C ()

  • Reinforcement Options:

    • Fiberglass Wire: Standard thermal sealing (up to 650°C insertion capability).

    • Stainless Steel / Inconel Wire: Superior structural strength and pressure endurance at maximum temperatures.

  • Rope Configurations:

    • Twisted Rope: Soft, pliable, ideal for general packing and low-density sealing.

Twisted Ceramic Rope (Low Density): ~500 kg/m³ to 600 kg/m³

      • Characteristics: Softer, lighter, and more compressible. Ideal for low-pressure insulation wrapping and filling loose gaps or irregular voids.

    • Round Braided Rope: Medium-high density, smooth finish, excellent for round gasket grooves and boiler doors.

      Round Braided Ceramic Rope (Medium-High Density): ~600 kg/m³ to 750 kg/m³

      • Characteristics: Dense weave with a firm cross-section. Designed for gasket channels, expansion joint packing, and boiler door sealing.

      • Round Braided Ceramic Rope Dimensions

Designed for smooth seating in round grooves, flange channels, and circular boiler access doors.

        • Standard Diameters (Thickness):

          • Rope Thickness / Size    Standard Roll
          •  6mm-12mm                     50m-100m per roll
          • 14mm-25mm                    25m-50m   per roll
          • 30mm-50mm                   10m-20m per roll
    • Square Braided Rope: Solid square cross-section designed for heavy packing and flat joint sealing.

Square Braided Ceramic Rope (High Density): ~700 kg/m³ to 850 kg/m³

      • Characteristics: Highly compressed, rigid square construction. Built for heavy-duty mechanical packing and high-pressure door/flange seals.

      • Standard Square Sizes (Width × Height):

        • Small: 6×6mm, 8×8mm, 10×10mm

        • Medium: 12×12mm, 16×16mm, 19×19mm

        • Large: 25×25mm, 32×32mm,45×45mm, 50×50mm

Core Benefits & Properties

  • Thermal Shock Resistance: Withstands sudden, severe temperature fluctuations without cracking or losing integrity.

  • Chemical Stability: Highly resistant to most chemicals, acids, and alkalis (excluding hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid, and concentrated alkalis).

  • Low Heat Storage & Thermal Conductivity: Retains minimal heat, making it an energy-efficient insulator.

  • Corrosion & Molten Metal Resistance: Unaffected by direct contact with molten aluminum, zinc, and non-ferrous alloys.

Common Industrial Applications

  • Boiler & Furnace Seals: Primary door gaskets and hatch seals for industrial boilers, kilns, and ovens.

  • Expansion Joint Packing: Sealing high-temperature movement joints in brickwork and ducting.

  • Pipe & Tube Wrapping: Insulation and sealing around high-heat exhaust conduits and steam pipes.

  • Casting & Metallurgy: Thermal barrier seals for metal pouring launders and glass manufacturing lines.

Initial Burn-Out Note: Like all woven ceramic textiles, ceramic rope contains ~15% organic binder fibers to facilitate the braiding process. During first-time exposure to heat (200°C–300°C), minor smoke and temporary darkening will occur as binders burn off. This is normal and does not impair the rope’s continuous high-temperature thermal performance.
